This role’s main function is to lead capital projects and engineering activities and act as a technical resource across the site. The leader assists in the design, planning and execution of all small minor projects as well as components of major projects. The leader will initiate continuous improvement activity within their area of discipline with direct impact on improving safety, quality and productivity for the factory.

What are we looking for?
The role requires an excellent knowledge of the site and all its assets to help provide innovative process engineering solutions that drive a competitive advantage. They must ensure delivery of scope, timeline, budget, and cash flow for all assigned engineering projects in accordance with standard Mars engineering practices. Accurately scope and estimate capital projects that are technically feasible and meet business objectives are a cornerstone to the role, and must communicate and collaborate with all stakeholders and other functions (Operations, R&D, Quality, Commercial, Finance) to ensure capital project objectives are clearly defined and achieved. They are a key member and contributor of the CVS (Commission, Validation, Start-up) team and must effectively lead, monitor and improve a safe work environment.

Minimum secondary school diploma and post-secondary education in a technical field with a strong electrical and mechanical aptitude. Recognized trade certificate or engineering degree preferred

Responsible for following all Quality and Food Safety Policies and applicable procedures

Provides direction and quality of work expected of contractors and ensures contractors are conforming to site safety and GMP requirements

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Responsible for leading capital projects within scope, timeline and budget
• Design, implement and manage execution of small minor and components of large minor projects; project and budget management, installation, commissioning, risk assessment, resource allocation, and handover
• Provides technical expertise for all phases of new projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Provides innovative solutions for re-occuring operational and/or reliability issues
